One thing we ENJOY doing...

Well, it has been a while since our summer newsletter. We have been very busy here. One of the new projects was to get our deep well drilled and Praise the Lord we have that now. A well drilling company from Canton, Tx. (Superior Well Drilling) really did a great job for us. We were hauling water twice a week for almost a year trying to meet the needs of the Rescue Mission here. And that left us no water for irrigation purposes but things are different now and we are so thankful.

These two young men that run this company (Superior Well Drilling) are fine young men (Trey Shade and Richard King). And Richard was happy to share his testimony of salvation with us and His service for the Lord. They attend another Baptist church in the area and run a good honest company and I highly recommend them.

They worked hard for two weeks going down 440 ft into what is known as the Wilcox Aquifer. Now after setting the proper screens, sands and concrete plugs the new well now brings water to within 146 feet of the top of the ground. All this is expensive and it takes a lot of equipment to go that deep. We knew up front the cost was going to be $6000 to $8000. So we asked the Lord to provide and He did. $4500 of that cost has been sent in already and another man donated a car for the well fund, which we will sell for $1500. And Superior Well Drilling donated a pump to us and that saved us a lot of money. 1 HP deep well pumps are not cheap.

When we got all done the cost was somewhere just over $6000. And as soon as we sell the car the well will be paid for. God is so good. I keep shaking my head and saying why would God want to bless people like us. We try very hard to reach out and help others at no cost to them. What a blessing this Mission is to all who come by this way.

The BARE BROTHERS on THE SOLID ROCK

We have laid the floor structure and the new foundation for the new kitchen/dining room. The floor joist and blocking is all in place and the sub-floor is down and tight. The walls and ceiling have been set, now we are ready to hang the windows and dry wall, and open that up into the other existing building.

We are looking forward to putting in new pantry’s and new cabinets, walk in freezer. There is so much to do and God is blessing us with so many friends who care and share with this ministry.

We have been given a number of pieces of equipment. Some outright donations and some on consignment. We have fixed them up, painted them up and gotten them ready to sell. And thru using EBay and First Monday in Canton (Worlds Largest Selling Market) 18 miles from us, we are able to place these refurbished pieces of equipment into the hands of people who appreciate what we are doing here. And those dollars go back into the Mission Fund to help with the bills and the costs here.

Our services have grown and we have had some new people come into our Bible studies. And what a blessing they are. We recently have received a man here from California. A young man 27 years old and we are happy to work with him. We still do not know how his mother got our name but we know nothing is too hard for our Savior to accomplish.

The men and the women who are here are doing very good, growing in the Lord, learning new trades and every body works well here together. My dear wife excitably awaits the new kitchen and we have gone to look and have found new unfinished cabinets and new counter tops. We purchased a used sink, in very good condition, at First Monday. Again, we watch as our Lord bring these needs in thru his incredible means as he speaks to the hearts of His people.

We are in the process of setting up a Web Page. Thanks to a dear brother (Keith McCaleb) who is a very able webmaster (if any of you are looking for someone to set your web page honestly, this man knows his stuff.) He is the son of Mr. & Mrs. Cliff McCaleb. Cliff is a Vietnam Veteran (his duty was the river boats) and now God has called him back to Vietnam as a Missionary to help those whom the Lord will save. Only God could do something like that.

What a blessing this man and his family are to my heart. The new web posting name will be www.apbcrescue.org. When this is all set up by Keith and his company, people will be able to go in and see current newsletters, old newsletter, current photos, old photos, our doctrinal position (what we teach) and our Mission statement (how we hope to help people).

Keith will also be introducing a new concept where we can take our video cam and have real time video of machinery that we have refurbished and place it on the World Wide Web and we hope to hotlink that to eBay so that someone desiring our piece of equipment could actually see it in it’s working mode and hear it run and understand the quality of these things although they live a great distance a way.

One of our guests, Bro. Tim Kime has done an excellent job by painting all of the equipment (as he is a professional painter). He is also beginning to get outside interests where people want him to do painting for them. He is done a good job of training others here in the art of detailed painting. Tim is a Veteran of Vietnam also.

Our other Vietnam Veteran, Bro. Jim Fekety, has an ongoing Ministry at the Nursing Home here in Van, Texas on Saturday mornings. He also travels to the VA in Dallas twice a week to share the Gospel and encourage other Veterans and counsel with them; what a blessing this man is to our Ministry. We call him our “Point Man” here, he is always dragging in something, like the freezer we use, and the dishwasher we use, etc, etc, etc. We call him old Rooster but not because he is up early, Grin, Grin. But because he has a keen eye for a good deal and he is personally a blessing to my heart. He plays the piano for our church services 3 times a week and teaches Bible Study classes on Sunday evenings.

Our other Veteran, who was with us for some time, Bro. Doug Lacy now has his own home in Van and his business is doing very well. He is a licensed airframe mechanic. If you know of anyone who needs airframe work done on their airplane, Doug is meticulous about getting it right and has become a dear, dear personal friend to this Preacher. He also teaches our Sunday school class on Sunday mornings.

The Lord also sent us a man to help us with the horses. Clyde Martin, a neighbor from a few miles away, has been a real blessing in making sure our horses are in good shape and in good health. Our old mare got into barbed wire and got a foot cut up pretty bad and Mr. Martin came up with his own brand of lineament and shared with us his years of experience as a horse wrangler. He has become a dear, dear friend with all the help he has given us. We are so thankful for all the people that God has sent our way, these are just a few of them. We will share more our ranch friends with you in the future.

We also just finished our fall revival with Bro. C. C. Hinton. Also a combat Vietnam Veteran, with two purple hearts. We had a great time of understanding the deep truths of the word of God. I seriously doubt that I have ever met ten men in the Ministry, that knew as much and could correlate as much as Bro. Hinton does in his evangelistic services. I have been in many, many revival meetings with Bro. Hinton and his dear wife, Miss Pauline who are not only accomplished songwriters and singers but he is so able, so very able to hold forth the word of life and teach the unsearchable riches of Jesus Christ. In this last meeting we were brought to new depths of seeing our own depravity and new heights of understanding God’s mercy. What a time we had as the Lord met with us here. And that special fresh oil being on His servant, Bro. Hinton. And at the end of that revival that Saturday morning we all traveled down to Tyler Texas to be in Bro. Dan Cozart’s Conference meeting and were blessed again with great fellowship. The ladies there prepared a wonderful meal. How good and how pleasant it is when brethren dwell together in unity.

Well, the holidays are upon us …..My choice you see… is Thanksgiving for me…But I like giving too…The Wise Men brought gifts to JESUS…But that’s what Wise Men do….
. As this fall winds up and winter comes down…. I am reminded in… Job … to find treasures in the snow. …and not to frown

Till next time, God bless you all from all the gang at the Rescue Ranch… down the trail we go. YEEEEEEE Haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

More Coming Soon!
